SPL: DUNFERMLINE 1 ABERDEEN 1: 22/11/97

Bert Paton chose the same fourteen players for the third week in succession but preferred David Bingham to Gerry Britton in the starting line up.

Aberdeen looked the better team for long periods without really bothering Westie too much. The Pars seem to lose their attacking ability with too many passes going astray.

Entertainment was poor but the result was the important thing. Saturday nights in the Auld Grey Toon are dull in the aftermath of defeat. Billy DODDS goal gift wrapped for him by Andy Tod put the Dons ahead after 65 minutes. Dunfermline introduced all their subs and Stewart Petrie looked hungry.

An Ivo Den Bieman free kick hit high into the penalty box from the right was nodded down and PETRIE gobbled up the chance from 18 yards.
