Pre Season Friendly: Dunfermline 0 Coventry City 1: 26/07/97

Gordon Strachan brought his Coventry City team for a pre season friendly but this was an unmemorable match even more so it has to be hoped for Pars keeper Ian Westwater who gifted the English Premiership side their win.

The bizarre blunder came 15 minutes from the end in an event less game. A John Salako cross looked as though it was going safely into the keeper’s hands but somehow he managed to catch it and then throw it in his own net.
